The International Affairs Department is in charge to pursuit the international cooperation commitments, agreements, and settlements on social assistance issues to propitiate interchange of information and better practices.
In particular, it is in charge of the following functions:
1. Represent the Head Officer of the Agency before the Ministry of Foreign Affaires, embassies, Mexican Consulates, as well as before organisms and international institutions related with social assistance activities.
2. Collaborate with the Ministry of Foreign Affaire representing the Federal Government to execute and publish social assistance programs before the international and multilateral organizations.
3. Coordinate the Agency’s participation in bi national or multilateral conferences and national and international congresses and coordinate the participation of international organizations and institutions in such meetings and events promoted by the Agency.
4. Conduct the coordination and agreement Agency efforts before the Mexican Consulates so they can assist fellow Mexicans in vulnerable conditions residing abroad.
5. Establish and operate information systems that allow knowing the situation of social risk circumstances affecting Mexican citizens in vulnerable social conditions residing abroad.
6. Propose international cooperation projects and programs related to protection actions and social assistance developed under the Agency’s responsibility.
7. Promote the fulfillment of resolutions and agreements celebrated with international organizations by the Mexican government in general and the Agency in particular to execute the programs and social assistance actions.
8. Express opinion on the bi national or multilateral social assistance agreements recommended by international organizations or institutions where the Agency is involved with.
9. Others established by the laws.
